
PETALING JAYA: Four new Covid-19 clusters have been detected in Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Sabah and Kelantan over the past 24 hours, the health ministry reported today.
In a statement, health-director general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said the clusters were known as the Bina Sungai Mulia cluster in KL, the Yayasan cluster in Selangor, the Batu Lima cluster in Sabah and the Hilir cluster in Kelantan.
The Bina Sungai Mulia cluster in Titiwangsa, KL, involves cases detected in a screening at a construction site on Nov 29. A total of 124 people have been screened, with 23 testing positive.
The Yayasan cluster in Klang, Selangor, first involved an individual screened after exhibiting symptoms. The patient was found to be positive on Nov 29.
A total of 190 people have been screened with 21 testing positive.
The Batu Lima cluster in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, first involved an individual screened after exhibiting symptoms. The patient was found to be positive on Nov 19.
A total of 118 people have been screened, with 49 testing positive.
The Hilir cluster in Kota Bharu, Tumpat, Bachok and Pasir Puteh, Kelantan, first involved an individual screened after exhibiting symptoms. The patient was found to be positive on Nov 24.
A total of 975 people have been screened, with 21 testing positive.
Noor Hisham said a total of 183 clusters are still active and being monitored.
