KOTA KINABALU: Police are looking for 10 people who took part in an attack on three 14-year-old boys while they were eating at a restaurant in Lintas Plaza here last night.
The suspects are believed to be members of a group that call themselves “Geng 66”. They had apparently assaulted the boys after they snubbed the invitation to join their gang.
A video clip of the attack has been making the rounds.
City deputy police chief George Abd Rakman said the boys had been approached and asked which group they were with, before being invited to join the group.
“The boys then told them they were not part of any gang nor were they interested to join any group,” he said, when contacted.
“Then suddenly the suspects attacked the boys with chairs before the eatery owner dispersed the crowd,” he said, adding the victims sustained bruises to the face and arms.
George said police have since identified several of the assailants and that efforts to locate the suspects are under way.
