IPOH: Three party leaders of the opposition Pakatan Harapan have been granted an audience with the Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah, tomorrow morning, following the defeat of menteri besar Ahmad Faizal Azumu in a confidence vote at the state assembly today.
Political sources have told FMT that the three are Perak PKR chief Farhash Wafa Salvador Rizal Mubarak, state DAP chairman Nga Kor Ming and state Amanah chairman Asmuni Awi.
They are due to meet the ruler at the Istana Kinta here at 11am.
The motion of confidence in Ahmad Faizal was defeated in the 59-member state assembly by 48-10 with one spoilt vote. Faizal was later granted an audience by the Sultan to present the latest information about the status of the Perikatan Nasional government.
Perikan Nasional has the support of 33 members of the state assembly, comprising PPBM (5) PAS (3) and Umno (25). The opposition Pakatan Harapan is composed of DAP (16), Amanah (5) and PKR (3).
