The charred body of the 25-year-old victim, who worked as a bookstore supervisor at the school, was discovered following a fire at the bookstore at 6.18pm yesterday, 12 March, reported Sinar Harian.

According to Cheras district police chief ACP Muhammad Idzam Jaafar, they received an emergency call about the fire at the school and when a team from Salak Selatan police station was dispatched there, they found the Kuala Lumpur Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) had already put out the fire.

The woman was found charred in the school’s Living Skills Workshop, reported Bernama.

Muhammad Idzam said that the body was handed over to Hospital Canselor Tuanku Muhriz UKM (HCTM) and that the case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.

He was arrested at the location of the fire.

“The suspect was remanded for seven days to assist in the investigation according to Section 302 of the Penal Code,” he said, adding that the case is still being investigated to uncover what actually occurred.

He also urged the public not to speculate on the incident and let the police do their job.
