The pair, placed number 10 in the world rankings, ended their five-year wait for a title. They showed incredible discipline by defeating the sixth-seeded South Koreans to win their maiden Super 500 title.

They are also the only Malaysians after Datuk Seri Lee Chong Wei to win the Korea Open title since the tournament’s inception in 1991. The former national shuttler had won the title in 2010, 2012, and 2013.

They are expected to move up to number nine on the world rankings following their success.
