Malaysian DOTA 2 Player Wins A Share Of RM2.8 Million At The International 2022

Malaysian DOTA 2 player Cheng Jin Xiang won a share of USD600,000 (approximately RM2.84 million) after finishing fifth-sixth place at The International 2022, also known as TI11

Cheng, more popularly known by his in-game name NothingToSay, was contesting under the China-based team PSG.LGD at the 11th iteration of the mega tournament.

The Malaysian millionaire gamer was playing with the same team as last year, where they finished second at TI10 and won USD5,202,400 (approximately RM21,636,781).

This year, the tournament has over USD17 million (approximately RM80.51 million) in the prize pool, a much lower amount as compared to last year’s USD40.02 million (approximately RM166.44 million).

In the best-of-two match on Sunday, 23 October, his team was bested by another China-based team, Team Aster.

TI11 has yet to conclude, with the grand finals slated to be held at the Singapore Indoor Stadium this weekend

The current teams that remain in the tournament are Team Secret, Tundra Esports, Team Aster, and Team Liquid.

Other Malaysians who competed in TI11 include Daniel “Ghost” Chan Kok Hong and Yap “xNova” Jian Wei, who contested under the China-based team Royal Never Give Up.

According to AFK Gaming, Chan and Yap’s team won a share of USD259,474 (approximately RM1.23 million) for finishing in 13th to 16th place.

Malaysian DOTA 2 veteran Chai “Mushi” Yee Fung was the coach of BOOM Esports, which finished ninth to 12th place and won USD339,282 (approximately RM1.61 million), reported One Esports.
