According to Bernama, the accused, Khalid Redza Shuib and Nurshafwani Khalid Redza, were charged for the murder of Hanan Hasrul Izwan at a house in Taman Nee Yan at around 7pm on 3 March.

Police had found the child’s skull, teeth, and bone fragments in some bushes in Taman Bukit Zamrud in Seremban on 7 April.

Standing before Magistrate Mohd Firdaus Saleh in court yesterday, 13 April, no plea was recorded from the duo.

Both nodded as the charge under Section 302 of the Penal Code was read to them, together with Section 34 of the same act, which carries the death penalty or imprisonment for up to 30 years and whipping if convicted.

The victim’s body was found by a jogger who stopped to take photographs in the area.

Khalid Reza allegedly committed the murder in the same house in Taman Nee Yan between 15 March and 17 March before dumping the body in the ravine.

No plea was recorded from the accused as the charge was read before Magistrate Norzaliza Tesmin.

Both magistrates fixed 17 May for re-mention of the cases after prosecution said they have yet to receive some reports.

He was also charged for neglect against Siti Sharifah’s 20-month-old son, Sufiy Hasrul Izwan.

The five-year-old murder victim mentioned previously, Hanan, was Siti Sharifah’s daughter.

The accused allegedly committed the offences of abuse at the same house as the two previous charges between 1 December last year and 23 March.

All the victims had lived with the accused in the house at some point.

Khalid Redza pleaded guilty to a charge of grievous hurt under Section 326 of the Penal Code, which carries a jail term of up to 20 years, a fine, and whipping if convicted.

However, he did not plead guilty to the charge of neglect under Section 31(1)(a) of the Child Act, which is punishable up to 20 years’ jail, a RM50,000 fine, or both, if convicted.

The case was also set for re-mention on 17 May by Sessions judge Rushan Lutfi Mohamed.

The accused and his daughter were represented by Noor Azizi Abdull Aziz from the Legal Aid Bureau. No bail was set for all five charges faced by the male accused.
