In a special announcement today, 10 October, Ismail said that the ban on interstate movement is being lifted as Malaysia has fully vaccinated 90% of the adult population.

According to the Prime Minister, while restrictions are being lifted, the people must adhere to standard operating procedures (SOPs) or else strong actions will be taken against anyone who breaches SOPs.

There will also be random checks by police to see if unvaccinated people are taking advantage of the situation.

Ismail said that the MyTravelPass will no longer be enforced and Malaysians can travel overseas for tourism purposes among others, starting tomorrow.

Those travelling overseas will still have to quarantine upon return to Malaysia.
