“I may die at any time, so may the youth. But generally speaking, the youth will live longer than I will,” Amanah president Mohamad Sabu said during a talk hosted by MUDA in Muar, Johor, last night, 16 October
Mat Sabu, as he is popularly known, reportedly said at the ceramah that the political climate of Malaysia is in a “terrible state” and it is now up to the youth to stand up and save the country.
“I have been in politics for over 20 years, and Malaysia is in a terrible (political) state. Therefore, it is up to the youth to stand up and save Malaysia,” he said during his speech, as reported by Malaysiakini.
Mat Sabu also commended MUDA, which was formed amidst a tumultuous political era.
Amanah is part of the Pakatan Harapan (PH) collition, which has entered into an electoral pact with MUDA and Parti Sosialis Malaysia (PSM) for the 15th General Election (GE15).
Taking a swipe, Mat Sabu also alleged that the caretaker government dissolved the parliament to save UMNO leaders from indictment
According to Sinar Harian, he expressed disbelief that Parliament was dissolved to “free a thief”.
“I have never heard of Parliament being dissolved to save their own kind. Hence, I plead with the youth to help save the country that is currently facing destruction. You still have a long way to go,” he said.
“Whether we like it or not, we can never give up in politics because if we give up, the ‘bandit clans’ will continue to rule us. There will be parties who will take advantage of us (Malaysians).”
