Two Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) officers have been arrested over allegations of extortion, molestation, and sexual assault, among others
According to Harian Metro, in the incident, the 35-year-old lance corporal and the 30-year-old constable were carrying out patrol duty in Pengkalan Chepa in Kota Bharu, Kelantan last Friday, 4 December.
At 10.45pm, they came across two civilians who were in a car by the roadside. Bernama reported that the victims are an engaged couple in their 20s.
“The policemen are said to have punched one of the victims and extorted RM1,250 from them so that the case will not be referred to the religious department,” said Kelantan police chief DCP Shafien Mamat.

While the fiancé left his partner to go to an automatic teller machine (ATM) to withdraw money with one of the officers, the female victim was allegedly forced to perform oral sex on the other officer
The officer is said to have molested her during the process as well.
“After obtaining the money which was withdrawn from an ATM nearby, the policemen are also accused of asking the couple to have sex in the vehicle while the act was recorded using the policemen’s mobile phones,” said Shafien.
China Press reported that the officers demanded the couple take off their clothes and have sex while they filmed the entire process.
Only after the police released them did the fiancée tell her partner that she was forced to perform oral sex earlier.
Shafien said the fiancé lodged a police report over the matter two days after the incident on Sunday, 6 December.

The two officers will be remanded from 6 December to 12 December to facilitate the ongoing investigation
The case is currently being investigated under Section 354, Section 377C, and Section 384 of the Penal Code for using criminal force to outrage the modesty of a person, committing carnal intercourse against the order of nature without consent, and committing extortion, respectively.
“I would like to stress here that as the state police chief, l will neither tolerate nor compromise with those caught committing crimes as it will tarnish the force’s image,” New Straits Times quoted Shafien as saying.
Meanwhile, China Press reported that photos of the suspects are being widely circulated on social media after members of the public managed to dig out information about the suspects.
According to the posts, both officers are said to be married with children. The 35-year-old lance corporal has been in the police force for 12 years, while the 30-year-old constable has been serving for six years.
