A pedestrian in Batu Pahat, Johor died after a police officer crashed into her while she was crossing the road
According to The Star, the victim has been identified as 46-year-old Ang Hui Yin.
Batu Pahat district police chief ACP Ismail Dollah said that she was crossing the road along KM6 Jalan Kluang-Batu Pahat when the incident occurred at around 7.45am.

It was drizzling when the accident happened and the police officer who ran into the woman was on his way to work
The officer is currently working at the Batu Pahat police headquarters and Ismail told Harian Metro that he was travelling from Parit Raja to Batu Pahat.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene while the policeman sustained severe injuries. He was then sent to the Sultanah Nora Ismail Hospital in Batu Pahat for medical treatment.

The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987
Ismail implored pedestrians to be more careful when crossing the road and road users should also be cautious while driving.
