Toying with familiar flavours that tingle the Malaysian taste buds, Kintry strives to develop a range of snacks that are made with premium natural ingredients.

They boast a wide range of yummy snacks that you can feast on. From melt-in-your-mouth cookies to hearty granola coated with fan-favourite flavours, Kintry has an array of treats that will suit everyone’s palate.

Some must-tries include their salted egg potato crisps, and their macadamia cookies with white chocolate chips. Trust us when we say that they’re very addictive. You’ve been warned.

Michelle Chai, single mum and entrepreneur extraordinaire, began her foray into the F&B line by experimenting with allergen-free recipes for her daughter who can’t eat eggs and nuts.

Things weren’t always so simple for Michelle, as she hit many obstacles in her path before establishing the Kintry brand.

After having to deal with her mother’s passing on one hand and divorce on another, she decided that she wanted to build something that her daughter, Amelie, would be proud of. Digging up her mother’s old cooking diaries consisting of newspaper recipe cutouts, she began experimenting and baking, whipping up a storm in her own kitchen.

However, due to the lifespan of the baked goods, her business became difficult to sustain, until she got a nudge from her friend to make the leap. In April 2018, both Michelle and her friend Andy Wong started Kintry from a small shoplot.

From a brand with humble beginnings, production at her Cheras shoplot is now in full flow thanks to her two kitchen staff, who help her keep up with online orders and stock the shelves at Ben’s Independent Grocer, Village Grocer, and restaurants like Ruyi & Lyn.

Besides motivating her, she said her friends, family, and partner were always willing to try whatever she made, always offering constructive criticism on how she can improve her products. They were also always there to come up with concepts and ideas for Kintry.

“My story is about overcoming challenges, believing in yourself and inspiring greatness in everyone no matter the situation or gender therefore the brand represents my story to encourage others to believe in themselves and chase their dreams,” Michelle said.

Aidilfitri is synonymous with many things. From the aroma of delicious food wafting through the air to the sounds of merry laughter in everyone’s home, it’s a time where families and loved ones get to spend time with each other.

To Kintry, they believe that food brings Malaysians together, and Michelle’s happy memories of eating with her mum and grandma inspired her to replicate those memories in a snack pack. Kintry prides itself on making locally influenced snacks that taste like home in every bite.

With these snack packs, Kintry wants to bring every Malaysian home, one bite at a time. <3
