Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Tan Sri Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani said this is due to the very encouraging response from the public to settle their unpaid summonses.

According to New Straits Times, he revealed that almost 2.3 million traffic summonses have been settled nationwide as of noon on Saturday, 11 December, with a total collection of RM109 million.

“Previously, the PDRM traffic counter in Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC) had to be shut down due to the overwhelming number of people who came to settle their summonses,” he said at a press conference on Sunday, 12 December.

“This posed a big challenge to PDRM to regulate the public in terms of complying with the set standard operating procedures (SOPs).”

He said the police also received reports that the summons payment website and mobile app, MyBayar Saman, could not be accessed due to high online traffic.

Besides that, those interested in settling their unpaid summonses can also head to:
– The MyBayar Saman website
– The MyBayar Saman app (available on the Apple App Store or Google Play Store)
– Any Pos Malaysia post office
– Any Maybank ATM

The discounts are applicable to all types of offences, except the ones listed below:
– Accident summonses in 2021
– Non-compoundable summonses
– Summonses that require court hearing
– Summonses for matters related to lorries
– Summonses for overtaking in a dangerous manner in 2021
– Summonses for driving on emergency lane in 2021
– Summonses for running red lights in 2021
