“Thank you, Women of the Future! At a time when truth is silenced and shunned, being recognised for the work I do is really reassuring and motivating,” said Nandini, after the winners were announced at the virtual awards celebration on Wednesday, 6 October.
“It was an honour to be among such brilliant women who are making such great changes in their communities.”
“Women of the Future has highlighted how important it is to recognise and celebrate the people who are making the world a better place despite the many adversities they face,” she added.
According to Women of the Future, the initiative recognises emerging women leaders who are not afraid to question stereotypes, break boundaries, and drive positive change with courage, hard work, and determination.
Other women in the Arts & Culture shortlist included Melissa Tan Li Hsia, Pamela Poh Sin Tan, and Red Hong Yi from Malaysia, as well as Adana Legros from Cambodia.
The Malaysian winners in their respective categories were:
– Science, Technology & Digital: Nur Adlyka Ainul Anuar, astrophysicist and associate professor at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia
– Property, Infrastructure & Construction: Mei Tan, exclusive director of Asia Green Group
– Business: Sarah Voon Ruyen, general manager of Tickled Media
