Jerantut district police chief Supt Mazlan Hassan told Sinar Harian that the incident took place yesterday, 7 October, and it involved a 29-year-old who was driving a Proton Persona.
It is believed that the driver accidentally stepped on the accelerator while trying to park right in front of the bank.
50-year-old Anuar Abdullah said that he was waiting in line to use the automated teller machine (ATM) at the bank when he suddenly heard a loud bang and the sound of glass breaking.
He told Kosmo! that customers ran out of the bank out of fear for their safety and he heard someone yell, “Allahuakbar!”
“Thankfully, during the incident, all the customers were inside the bank and no one was out on the pavement. It’s just that the glass wall broke and no one was hurt,” he added.
Mazlan said that no criminal elements were found and that the victim has filed a report at a police station.
