In a Facebook post on Monday, 24 January, Yeoh said she wanted a design that was “something special from the children for the children” for the festivities.

With that, she shared that her office will be giving out adorable pink and yellow packages this Chinese New Year (CNY). Its artwork was designed by a 12-year-old boy with autism!

Yeoh said she met Azizy at a UNIQLO and Early Autism Project collaboration event in December last year.

Finding out he enjoys drawing and colouring cartoons, as well as viewing his other artwork at the event, she requested for a drawing from him to feature on her 2022 ang pow packets.

Azizy and his family happily obliged and he sketched a few versions of a CNY tiger before getting a final design.

“The first version seemed a bit grumpy and Azizy accidentally coloured it blue. For the second version, [he] got frustrated and crumpled it up!” shared Yeoh.

“But with the help of his team, they salvaged his cute drawing and here it is, Gong Xi Fa Cai from all of us!”

She added that a tree was added, “to remind us to preserve the habitat for our tigers.”

Aside from being featured on the ang pows, Yeoh said Azizy’s tiger will also be used on all CNY banners throughout Segambut.

She then called on interested Segambut residents to collect them from her office at United Point on weekdays from 10am to 5pm.
