An initiative under Budget 2022, the RM300 million ePemula programme is projected to benefit more than two million youths in the country, according to Finance Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz.
Malaysians aged 18 to 20, as well as full-time students enrolled in courses equivalent to diploma or SKM4 and above in higher educational institutions, are eligible to receive RM150 ePemula credit through the programme.
This one-time government aid can be claimed via participating digital wallet service providers from 8am on 11 April to 11.59pm on 1 June. It will be valid for use until 11.59pm on 10 June.
Besides easing expenses for youths, ePemula is intended to support brick-and-mortar businesses, especially during this economic recovery period, while also promoting cashless payment habits.
This year, ShopeePay returns as an official digital wallet partner with the Ministry of Finance for the ePemula programme. And, the good news is that recipients will be able to spend the RM150 ePemula credit and extra perks offline.
If you choose to spend it in-store, simply scan and pay with ShopeePay at any retail outlet that displays the pink DuitNow QR code (be it ShopeePay or other e-wallets and banks).
Helping push Malaysians towards a cashless lifestyle, ShopeePay is promising an extra RM500 worth of vouchers which can be used for ShopeePay, ShopeeFood, Shopee Mall, as well as YES SIM card and mobile data.
