During the tabling of Bajet 2022 — the Supply Bill 2022 — the Finance Minister said the BKM is designed specifically to help Malaysians who are affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
According to him, families with three children and more and have an income lower than RM2,500 will receive RM2,000.
Zafrul said this is the highest single payout as the previous financial aid programme’s — Bantuan Prihatin Rakyat (BPR) — highest payout was RM1,800.
While families with no children and an income lower than RM2,500 will receive RM1,000 under BKM, said the minister.
Single mothers and fathers with an income lower than RM5,000 will receive RM500; senior citizens will receive RM300.
“This means that single mothers and fathers with three children and more are eligible to receive a maximum of RM2,500,” said Zafrul.
