A Total Of 46 People Have Died In The Floods Across Selangor, Pahang & Kelantan As Today

As of this morning, 25 December, authorities have recorded a total of 46 deaths from the floods.

Among the states, Selangor is the worst hit with the most number of deaths recorded so far.

According to Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani, Selangor has recorded 25 deaths, Pahang has recorded 18, and there have been three recorded fatalities in Kelantan.

“There are still five missing victims. We hope that they will be found soon,” New Straits Times quoted him as saying at a press conference at the Taman Sri Muda police control post in Shah Alam today.

He added that the five who were still missing were all male victims in Pahang.

Pahang reported the highest number of evacuees at 29,108, followed by 23,302 victims in Selangor.

“Kelantan reported 974 evacuees, 238 in Kuala Lumpur, 292 in Negri Sembilan, 107 in Perak, and 38 in Melaka,” Acryl said, adding that 68 roads are still closed, including 45 in Pahang, 14 in Selangor, five in Negeri Sembilan, and three in Kelantan.
