The woman was compounded earlier today, 31 October.

Wang Wangi district police chief ACP Noor Dellhan Yahaya said the woman was compounded RM1,500 for each of the two offences after the investigation into the SOPs violation case was completed.

“The first compound notice is for failing to scan with MySejahtera app before entering premises, and the second is for failing to wear a face mask,” Noor Dellhan said in a statement.

While confirming that the Caucasian woman was the same woman who was at KLCC Suria and later tried to enter BSC without wearing a mask, Brickfields district police chief ACP Amihizam Abdul Shukor said that they have identified the woman and are currently investigating the case.

In the video which was uploaded on Twitter on 27 October, she can be heard saying that she was threatened by an employee at the door while she was trying to enter the Dior boutique.

“When I went to walk in, he put his hands on me and pushed me!” she said, adding that the employee “can’t stop” her as they “don’t own the shop” and moreover because Malaysia is “a free country”.

Dictionary.com states that ‘Karen’ is a pejorative slang term for an obnoxious, angry, entitled, and an often racist middle-aged white woman who uses her privilege to get her way or police other people’s behaviours.
