Members of the public are advised not to be alarmed by the red water flowing in a cemetery in Seremban, Negeri Sembilan as the authorities have confirmed that the liquid is not blood
According to Sinar Harian, Paroi state assemblyman Datuk Mohamad Taufek Abd Ghani said he had visited Tanah Perkuburan Islam Forest Heights in Senawang with Seremban City Council Mayor Datuk Masri Razali and officials from the Department of Mineral and Geoscience Malaysia (JMG).
During their visit on Saturday, 25 September, they learnt that the red liquid found on the cemetery ground is merely overland flow that has been mixed with red coloured rocks.
“Based on the description given, the cemetery has a spring and the soil content has red coloured rocks. So when it is mixed, it has resulted in an overflow of red water in the area,” Taufek told the Malay daily.
“Besides that, the area of the cemetery site used to be a swampy area and there are often water overflows, especially during the rainy season.”

The Paroi assemblyman’s clarification on the matter comes after photos of the cemetery awash with blood-looking streams and puddles went viral last week
“It is said that the blood came out of the newly buried graves. It’s scary to think about our situation after death. Please forgive our sins, God,” read the caption of a post that has more than 1,300 shares.
The photos show red liquid flowing on the road of the cemetery site and in between the passages of graves.

Hundreds of netizens commenting in the post offered their prayers to the deceased buried at the cemetery.
Many viral posts did not provide any explanation for the cause of the red liquid.
Additionally, the posts included a notice by the Seremban City Council (MBS) that says the cemetery will be closed beginning 24 September without providing any reason.

Commenting on the closure, Taufek said it has to be done because the remaining lot of land is no longer suitable for burying remains
“The cemetery will be temporarily closed until the terrace construction work on a piece of land adjacent to the cemetery is completed,” said the assemblyman.
“The land will also be used as a cemetery site. Terrace construction work is being done to prevent erosion on the land. It is expected to be completed in about two months.”
“For the time being, Tanah Perkuburan Islam Forest Heights will be closed. However, visiting graves can still be carried out.”
