
Its management said the company has been facing tremendous increases in manufacturing and material costs outside of its control.
“Following years of absorbing the said increases, Gardenia has now no alternative except to implement a price revision on selected Gardenia products effective Dec 1, 2020,” it said.
The group added that its focus now is to continue enhancing its efforts in optimising productivity and efficiency at its bakeries.
“For Gardenia, increasing the price of our products is the last resort when all other efforts have been taken to maximise the efficiency of our operations,” it said.
The price revision will be tagged on its buns, comprising Gardenia Squiggles flavours, Butter Toffee, Sambal Bilis and Gardenia Fluffy to be adjusted from RM1.05 to RM1.10.
Its Toast’em, Delicia Butter Raisin, Butterscotch, Choco Raisin and Raspberry Milk and Cranberries bread will go from RM4.50 to RM4.70.
Other Gardenia products will remain unchanged as the company will absorb the increased costs incurred by the rise in ingredients prices.
