Police announce more transfers of senior officers

Police announce latest round of transfers and promotions as part of its rotation of senior police officers

PETALING JAYA: The police have announced a number of promotions and transfers involving senior officers based at the federal police headquarters in Bukit Aman and various states.

It is believed to be part of the on-going rotation of senior police officers mentioned by Inspector-General of Police Abdul Hamid Bador recently, with more than 20 other transfers announced earlier this month.

In a statement police corporate communications head Asmawati Ahmad said effective Dec 28, 10 senior police officers will be taking up new posts.

The most prominent transfer is that of Bukit Aman Inspector-General of Police (Secretariat) (Research and Development) head Ibrahim Saad who will be moving to the home ministry to take up the post of deputy director-general of the Border Security Agency.

Another transfer involves, Kuala Lumpur criminal investigation department (CID) head Nik Ros Azhan Nik Ab Hamid who will be appointed as Eastern Sabah Security Command (Esscom) chief of staff (Special Investigation/Technical Team).

“Nik Ros Azhan will be replaced by Bukit Aman CID’s Intelligence/Operation/Record Division (D4) assistant director (Intelligence/Operations) ACP Saiful Annuar Yusoff with the rank of acting senior assistant commissioner (SAC),” Asmawati said.

Another move out of Bukit Aman involves the Special Branch’s E8F staff officer Shariman Ashari who has been appointed Langkawi district police chief with the rank of acting assistant commissioner of police (ACP).

Within the federal police headquarters, two more internal transfers taking place are that of management department Secretariat assistant director Mohd Shukri Ismail who will be appointed as Bukit Aman logistics and technology department’s Secretariat deputy chief (Technology).

According to Asmawati, Bukit Aman logistics and technology department’s (Finance/Procurement/General Policing) staff officer Supt Rose Baini Kasim will be taking over Shukri’s post, with the rank of acting ACP.

From other states, Batu Pahat district police chief Azhan Abdul Halim will move to the federal police headquarters to take up his new post as SAC (Intelligence/Special Investigation) at the internal security and public order department’s Special Operations, with the rank of acting SAC.

Meanwhile, Seri Alam district police chief Supt Ismail Dollah will be appointed Batu Pahat district police chief, with the rank of acting ACP.

Also involved in the move is Pulapol Langkawi’s deputy commandant Mohd Junaidi Mat Akhir who has been made commandant at Pulapol, Kedah with the rank of acting ACP.

Others involved are Gua Musang district police chief Mohd Taufik Maidin who will be appointed as Kedah Narcotics CID head with the rank of acting ACP.
