On 25 November, a 46-year-old man was attacked at a convenience shop in Teluk Intan, Ipoh by two masked assailants
According to Harian Metro, the incident happened around 8.30am when the victim was buying groceries at the shop.
Perak Criminal Investigation Division (CID) chief ACP Anuar Othman said after the man bought his items and went outside, a grey car parked near him.
Two masked men dressed in black got out of the car wielding machetes.
The victim was chased back into the shop by the two assailants and slashed multiple times when he fell down
“The attackers then fled the scene with the car that is believed to be using a fake registration number,” ACP Anuar said.
The police have conducted an on-site inspection and checked for CCTV footage at the premises.
The victim was rushed to the hospital and is now in stable condition
Examinations found that the victim suffered injuries from cuts on the right arm and thigh, as well as his left elbow and knee.
“Besides that, an X-ray test found that the victim had broken his left elbow bone, both arm joints, and a right femur,” ACP Anuar added.
The case is being investigated under Section 326 of the Penal Code. Information is being gathered to track down the suspects.
