On Monday, 21 June, the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) started an investigation into a man suspected of sexually assaulting two children at a block of flats in Section 19, Petaling Jaya

Based on a report filed by the victims’ 40-year-old mother, Petaling Jaya district police chief ACP Mohamad Fakhrudin Abdul Hamid said in a press statement yesterday, 24 June, police are actively hunting the 26-year-old suspect.

The victims, who are siblings aged eight and nine, were reportedly ascending a flight of stairs at a block of flats near their residence on Monday, around 11am, to sell kuih when the suspect approached them.

According to the victims’ accounts, the suspect grabbed their hands and sexually assaulted them.

The victims were traumatised and fled back home crying. They immediately informed their mother, who then filed a police report.
