A 27-year-old man in Beaufort, Sabah, assaulted his wife and their one-year-old son after getting annoyed at the baby’s crying
The domestic incident took place at around 3pm on Wednesday, 16 June.
At the time, the man was resting at home in Kampung Membakut Jaya when his one-year-old son started crying. He became angry after not being able to sleep due to the baby’s crying.
He started beating and slapping the baby and the wife when she tried to stop him.
According to Beaufort district police chief DSP Yusoff Zaki Mat Yaacob, the man also threatened to hang and kill his wife
The 23-year-old wife lodged a police report the same day.
Sinar Harian reported that she was referred to the district hospital for injuries to her cheek.
The case is being investigated under Section 323 of the Penal Code for causing injuries and Section 506 for Criminal Intimidation.
The police are tracking down the suspect.
