Tunku Putera of Johor Tunku Abu Bakar Al-Haj Ibni Sultan Ibrahim escaped from a high-speed crash unscathed while racing during the GT World Challenge Australia motorsport competition on Saturday, 12 November
The event was held at the Mount Panorama Circuit in Bathurst, New South Wales.
Tunku Abu Bakar lost control while driving at a speed of 200km/h through the McPhillamy Park Circuit and crashed the Mercedez-Benz GTS he was driving into the tyre barriers before the car flipped over.
Officials and spectators were relieved when the Johor Sultan’s youngest son emerged unscathed from the wrecked car. The 21-year-old flashed the ‘peace’ sign to the fans before boarding a circuit officials’ car that sent him to the medical service unit.
