A 44-year-old man has been arrested by police on Monday, 17 October, after allegedly killing three cats by throwing them out of his apartment unit
According to a statement by Petaling Jaya district police chief ACP Mohamad Fakhrudin Abdul Hamid, he said that the police received a report about a man throwing three cats out of his rented apartment unit on the 15th floor located on Jalan PJS 8/9, Petaling Jaya, Selangor.
Acting on the report, the suspect was successfully arrested by police who found him in his rented apartment with the carcasses of the three cats.
Upon further investigation from the police, the man admitted to killing the three felines by tossing them from the 15th floor of the apartment building
The suspect will be remanded for four days, starting 17 October. His case will be further investigated under Section 428 of the Penal Code for mischief by killing or maiming an animal.
If the suspect is found guilty, he may face imprisonment of up to three years, or be fined, or both.
