Two robbers in Kedah were recently caught on camera attacking a 50-year-old woman in an insurance office
According to Harian Metro, the robbery took place on Wednesday, 2 December, in Taman Intan, Sungai Petani.
Around 2pm, the two suspects arrived at the insurance office. One of them walked into the premise while the other waited by their motorcycle outside.
Before assaulting the office employee, one of the suspects pretended to be a customer who wanted to sort out insurance matters.
He then took a bottle of pepper spray out of his pocket and attacked the woman.
Kuala Muda District Police chief ACP Adzli Abu Shah told the Malay daily that the suspect was also armed with a knife.
“Closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage shows the suspect walking into the store wearing a face mask as well as a blue helmet with a visor. The suspect sprayed the victim’s face with pepper spray and pointed a knife at her while asking for money,” he said.
“Out of fear, the victim handed over RM200 to the suspect. The suspect outside then kicked the glass door at the premise, allowing his partner to escape.”
During the incident, the woman was working alone in the office.
