Sweet or savoury, it’s always a bright idea to swap processed food for fresher whole foods and grains. And the good news is, there are plenty of wholesome eats that you can easily reach for, that are both indulgent and nutritious too.

With Dutch Lady’s Banana Flavoured Milk And Kurma Flavoured Milk back permanently on shelves, you can also pair your yummy eats with a glass of milky goodness for a tasty combo — but more on that at the end of the story!

1. Baked sweet potato fries

Homemade sweet potato fries are a lovely alternative to deep fried french fries. Not only does it look appetising from the bright orange hue, sweet potatoes are a wonderful source of beta carotene and fibre.

Simply cut them up and bake them as you would regular potatoes! Crispy and hearty, you can keep the seasoning simple with salt and pepper or play with spices like cinnamon and chilli powder.

2. Banana and oatmeal cookies

Banana and oatmeal cookies will feel like a yummy treat for you and the whole family! Bananas lend a healthy sweetness, while oatmeal adds a dose of protein and fiber.

The best part about these cookies? They’re incredibly simple to make! And you only need two ingredients — bananas and oatmeal. Plus, with milk and cookies being pretty much a match made in heaven, enjoy the cookies with a glass of creamy Dutch Lady Banana Flavoured milk for an added burst of banana flavour.

3. Frozen fruit

You’ll certainly enjoy snacking on these icy treats! Fruits like grapes, mango, strawberries, blueberries, bananas, and kiwi freeze well and taste almost like popsicles, but without added sugars or preservatives.

Want to take it to a creamier level? Blend the frozen fruit with your favourite type of milk to enjoy as a tasty smoothie. Or pop it back into the freezer for a cool treat that’s perfect on extra hot days.

4. Hummus

Made with mashed chickpeas, tahini, garlic, and olive oil, this delicious dip can be enjoyed at any time of the day.

From sliced veggies and crackers, to pretzels and pita bread, you can choose any food you’d like as a vehicle for the hummus to reach your mouth. This delightfully satisfying dip will keep you going back for more bites, regardless of what you pair it with. 😀

5. Popcorn

As a nutritious wholegrain, popcorn makes for a great snack that you can enjoy guilt-free throughout the day! Just remember to keep the sugar or salt to a minimum.

Pop some kernels in the microwave, stovetop, or airpopper, and you can have bowls of popcorn to munch on for the next few days (TBH, you might just finish it all in one sitting, ’cause of how good it tastes, hehehe).

The sky is the limit when it comes to how you can flavour this snack too. Drizzle hot sauce for some heat, or sprinkle cinnamon sugar for something less sweet but still packs a flavourful punch.

Looking for something to pair it with? Grab a convenient 200ml pack of your fave Dutch Lady flavoured milk!

6. Fruit with nut butter

From peanut and cashew to almond and pistachio, you can pair any type of nut butter you like with fruits you probably already have at home.

Some fruits that go well with nut butters include bananas, apples, and melons, as well as different types of berries, such as strawberries (think PB&J minus the bread). Plus, you’ll benefit from a nice dose of protein from the nut butters, in addition to vitamins and minerals from the fruits.

7. Rice or corn cakes

Light and pleasantly crisp, rice or corn cakes make for yummy snacks that you can enjoy throughout the day. Rice cakes tend to have a lighter flavour, while the ones made with corn feature a slightly nuttier taste.

What’s nice about these mild-tasting snacks is that you can slather on peanut butter and sprinkle with chocolate chips for something sweet, or top with creamy guacamole for a savoury treat. Or you could even enjoy crisp rice crackers plain, with a milky beverage like flavoured milk for an indulgent combo. Yum!

8. Chia seed pudding

High in protein and omega 3, chia seeds make for a wholesome and delicious treat, especially when you use them to make pudding. 😉

You can include fruits like banana and strawberry in your chia seed pudding recipe, or blend it with cocoa powder for a velvety smooth texture.

9. Toasted seaweed

If your favourite part of eating sushi is the seaweed, then you’d love dried seaweed sheets. Spicy or plain, you can enjoy them sprinkled with a variety of seasoning options. Plus, you can find them in stores everywhere.

Otherwise, they can be baked to a tasty crisp in your oven at home too. 😀

Available in one litre and 200ml packs, Dutch Lady Kurma Flavoured Milk is filled with the goodness of real date extract, which is a delicious and nutritious flavour that you can enjoy anywhere, anytime.

Meanwhile, another favourite which you can now enjoy throughout the year, is the Dutch Lady Banana Flavoured Milk. Introduced this year as a limited edition flavour during Ramadan, the wholesome banana flavoured milk is also back on shelves permanently, yay!

Starting mid-October, both flavours will be available in-store and online for you to purchase.
