KUALA LUMPUR: Senior Minister for Security Ismail Sabri Yaakob said police arrested 311 people yesterday over movement control order-related offences.
Of the total, Ismail said 306 people were issued compound fines while another five were remanded.
Most of the offences, he said, were for failing to wear face masks.

A total of 2,841 compliance task force teams were deployed to conduct checks on 16,053 supermarkets, restaurants, hawker stalls, factories, banks, government offices, as well as land, water and air transport terminals.
Ismail also said police caught 14 illegal immigrants as well as confiscated three boats and one vehicle yesterday under Ops Benteng.
He added that 79,128 people have arrived through KLIA from July 24 to Nov 30 from various countries.
A total of 502 people tested positive for Covid-19 and were sent to hospital for treatment, while 67,356 have been allowed to return home.
Some 11,270 people are currently undergoing mandatory quarantine.
