In the photos posted on Facebook on 17 February, the two local men — Bryan Wee and Deacon Chai — were seen cross-dressing in front of the crown arch, while posing suggestively.

Bryan was wearing a yellow crop top and short pants with blue underwear, while Deacon was wearing a see-through white dress and blue briefs. The duo also did several poses for the camera in front of the arch.

While Bryan removed the post after backlash, screenshots of the post have gone viral.

Meanwhile, Johor Bahru south district police chief Raub Selamat told Oriental Daily that the police has received a report over the post and have launched an investigation.

Johor Baru North police chief ACP Rupiah Abd Wahid said the two men, aged 24 and 27, were detained in connection with the posts uploaded on the Facebook accounts of “Bryan Wee” and “Deacon Chai”.

The case is being investigated under Section 505 (b) of the Penal Code, Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998, and Section 15 (1) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.

If convicted under Section 505 (b) of the Penal Code for public mischief, they can be punished with imprisonment for up to two years or a fine or both. If found guilty of improper use of network facilities, they can be punished with a fine not exceeding RM50,000 or imprisonment not more than a year or both.

“Investigations were also conducted in accordance with Section 15 (1) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 because the initial screening of both urine tests was found to contain ketamine,” Rupiah added.

Yesterday morning, 19 February, Magistrate Tiffany Chin Phin Yuan at the Crown Court of Istana Bukit Serene issued a remand order for two days against both men.
